A New Life

Because it never rains when it can pour, my new life is looking like it might need scuba gear.  I stay in the same job for 24 years, granted I spent time in a bunch of countries over that time, but still – same job. Now I’m starting a new consultancy, I might have someone to make this whimsy forge 3D printing thing an actual business, and I’m looking for a publisher.

It’s like the change thing was building up pressure, and once I made a move it all happens all at once! I mean, I had to get hit by cars to get a break from the sameness in the old life. Now the new life starts with piles of ‘new’ all at once! It’s still about possibles right now, so it’s all fantastic – but if unpleasant reality hits the same way on all channels simultaneously, it would be…bad. Life and Possiblities

My temporary retirement is coming to a close. And I’ve been pretty quiet here, cus retirement. Now I’m beginning to narrow down options and trying to keep feeding myself, so am thinking about work again.  I’m starting to approach old clients and seeing if they’ll give me money for pushing truths out of my head and into electrons.

I’ve been a bit quiet here for a while, compared to the January to half way through February period where I’d posted 3 blogs. It seemed my need to write could use a new outlet. So I started a book, And finished-ish a book, and started another. Now I’m approaching Publishers and seeing if I can make some actual income from pushing made up stories out of my head and into electrons. Your hands don’t get as ink covered from keyboards, but the letters on the keys wear off. Hopefully I won’t get the truths and the made up stories mixed up. Continue reading “Life and Possiblities”

Mind Probes

I’ve put together a number of frames, ways of thinking about cognition and human interaction in my unending (and unending-able) quest to understand people.  People is weird, so it’s hard work, and is only ever sort of right.

Let’s randomly pluck a name from today’s news and look at him through the filter of these frames.  For that random selection, the OOWSNN (Orange One Who Shall Not be Named) is in pretty much every story, so I guess it’s him.
